Association for Social Anthropological Research

APRAS(Association pour la Recherche en Anthropologie Sociale) has been founded in 1989 and is open to all doing research in the field of social anthropology, in France or elsewhere.

Since its foundation the APRAS appraises and debates all aspects of the situation in France regarding the practice of social anthropology, professional and institutional, as well as theoretical and methodological.

The APRAS organizes a yearly distinguished lecture (“Conférence Robert Hertz”), publishes a trimestrial Newsletter (Lettre d’Information), and convenes its members and other participants several times each year to discuss current issues of interest. Its website is under construction and will be online shortly.
