WCAA EASA2010 meeting

The WCAA will hold its next meeting just before EASA2010 which take places in National University Ireland Maynooth, this August.

Location: John Hume Board Room, Top floor, John Hume Building, North campus, NUI Maynooth (PDF map).

Group work: Anthropology today - identifying challenges for anthropology and anthropological associations around the world and globally; Group reports & discussion: what are the key challenges, opportunities and solutions?; Drafting of a Strategic Plan for WCAA Action, for the Years 2010-2012

Discussion on delegation of the following tasks within the executive, and possibly beyond:

  1. Membership (encouraging organizations to join)

  2. Finances and organizational contributions

  3. Governance (in charge of elections, making sure that we have candidates, etc)

  4. Website oversight (liaison with NomadIT)

  5. Political outreach (letters, initiatives)

  6. Grants (identifying funding sources and writing proposals)

  7. Meetings organization (identifying meetings where WCAA might have a session or intermediate meetings)

Nomination of candidates for election

Election of new Deputy Chair (1) and Organizing Committee Members (2); Conclusion

 

Tea breaks will be catered for, on location.

Lunch will be by individual choice, and we will suggest some nearby restaurants on the day.

The EASA conference is being held on the same campus as the WCAA Meeting.

 

The EASA Conference starts at 17:00 on 24 August, and finishes at 19:00 on 27 August. To register or read more about the conference visit their website.
