Also, some websites are indexed in some of the top citation index databases, and they do not have the long time lag that many journals have. It is too bad that academia is tied so much to these journal rankings. Our site, IPIR, is indexed in some of the top databases, and also allows you to reach a MUCH wider audience. Within one day, your article can be read by over 10,000 people. I don't know any journal that provides that kind of audience/readership.
